Connecting Together
Care experienced young people have told us how they feel isolated and lonely and of the negative impact that Covid-19 restrictions are having on their wellbeing. We have been successful in securing a grant from the WCVA to support care experienced young people through this difficult time. Employing a Volunteer Coordinator, the aim of the project is to bring young people together through virtual social events and to offer wellbeing packages.
Whether the young person is in foster care, a residential setting, kinship care or living independently they are eligible to receive a wellbeing package. This could include:
- Information and advice about Coronavirus
- Arts & Crafts
- What support Voices is providing including virtual events
- Help with independent living e.g. provision of food vouchers
- How to get involved in their local community
