Voices From Care Cymru represents the views, rights and experiences of children and young people who are or have been looked after in Wales. Our aim is to ensure that young people’s voices are heard by decision and policy makers in Wales.


Voices From Care Cymru are looking to recruit for the following vacancies:


Development Officer

Hours: Full time 35 hours.

Salary: £19,000 per annum.

Length: Fixed Term until 31stMarch 2020.

Office based in Cardiff.

Purpose of post

This post will develop VFCC’s five regional participation groups by delivering a series of engaging workshops, which aim to provide care experienced young people with the opportunity to influence policy and practice in Wales. The Post will develop and facilitate VFCC’s local participation groups in RCT, Merthyr Tydfil and Carmarthenshire.  This post will also support care experienced young people participate in VFCC’s wider work, including conferences and events.

Salary: £11,400 per annum (£19,000 pro rata)

Purpose of post

The Post will develop and facilitate projects using Comic Relief funding to aid participation of care experienced young people who currently have no relationship with VFCC. More specifically, the post will support young people to plan and deliver a series of young person-organised events across Wales. Once engaged, you will support these young people to deliver working groups, join social action campaigns and participation groups to improve services for care leavers, reducing the inequalities they face.
